These Flyer Tips Are Fantastic
Printed flyers are as effective as they are affordable and you can really maximise their effect if you use a few tried and tested techniques when it comes to flyer design.
Printed flyers have been around for as long as we can remember. That’s because printing flyers is cost-effective. Flyers are also very adaptable and they work. If you’re thinking of flyer printing there are a few tried and tested design techniques you can follow. Have a look below and see how our flyer design tips can help you get the results you require.
1. Catch the eye – IMMEDIATELY!
We know, we know. Sounds obvious, doesn’t it? However, the truth is that we see so many posters, leaflets and other advertising that it takes something really special to grab our attention. Think of that poster that held your gaze and turned your head or the flyer you stopped to look at and put in your pocket. What was different about them? Use a witty or provocative headline, a unique image or contrasting colours to help your flyer rise above the marketing chatter.
2. Tell people what’s so good about you
Advertisers know that for any campaign to work they need to answer one main question for consumers – “What can you do for me?” Make sure your flyers mention the benefits of using your business. You’re asking people not only to buy from you but to choose you over your competitors, so tell them why they should do so.
3. Keep it short – snappy – direct
When designing artwork and writing text for your printed flyer, remember its purpose is to deliver a high impact message that’s easy to remember. Flyers are not the place to talk about your business or its history. Get straight to the point to get the very best from your flyer.
4. Go big on branding
Every piece of marketing from stickers, flyers and leaflets to posters or even business stationery is an opportunity to grow your brand. The more people see your name and logo the more credible your business becomes.
5. Don’t forget a clear call to action
Again, it sounds obvious but many flyers don’t make it clear what they want the reader to do apart from reading the flyer. Before you send your flyer or leaflet for printing make sure it has clear contact details and a call to action like “Call now” or “Visit our store today”. Put simply, people are much more likely to contact you or go to a store or venue if you tell them to rather than just letting know them where it is.
Asset Print offers professional printing at excellent prices, including on printed flyers. Everything from flyers, leaflets and booklets to business cards or 48 sheet posters can be delivered when and where you need them – even the next day.

Stunning Canvas Prints And Wall Art Trends
Check out these wall art designs!
Large canvas wall art
Surreal canvas art prints
Art has always provided a mental escape for everyone when being created and being viewed. People are getting quicker and bolder when it comes to choosing an art piece, which means that this year we will be seeing more and more surreal art design in our homes.
Creating an impact with smaller wall art prints is so much better when there’s three. Combine this with a simple, black frame that runs across all three designs of the same size and the result is a minimal, yet well-thought-out, gallery wall of your style.
Being surrounded by faces always gives a room a warming and familiar feel, even when you do not personally know the people within the portrait – max out on this with larger sizes for a greater impact this year.
The love for animals has always been strong, and we will be seeing more people express this in the form of their home decor. There will be animal print cushions and curtains alongside framed wall art in the living rooms of their beloved pets.
Rich and colourful tones
As the 2020 colour of the year, as you may already know, is royal blue this will be having an impact on the other popular colours for the year. Also including luxurious teal greens and deep ruby reds to build around the blues of interiors this year.
Whether this is a minimalistic box frame, a heavy-duty ornate wooden frame, or classic visual play of their 2D printed frames. And they are a great way to enhance the artwork you have.
Modern wall art with your taste
It is easy to get led astray from your personality when there’s so much inspiration around, but it is important to keep your artwork decisions personal to you. It may be visually pleasing to keep your gallery wall in nice straight, geometric lines but if you are more of the “where-ever it fits, it goes” type personality then apply this when building your gallery wall. Your canvas artwork in the home is for you, so make sure you chose it in this way and have it printed by the pros at Asset Print.

Things you Didn’t Know About Custom Printing
When we think about printing, in terms of printing at home and not custom printing services, the majority of us will think about the amount of ink we have used, the amount of paper that we must purchase in order to create the files that we want and even how we will recycle the paper or ink that we have wasted; however there are many things that we do not think about due to the fact that we simply do not know these facts.
For those of you who think you’ve heard it all; here are 5 facts about printing that you’re unlikely to already know.
Creating paper
The majority of us will understand that wasted paper is also wasted money; but how many of you know the extent of this cost?
A single ton of paper is approximately the same as 400 reams of paper which is in turn equal to 200,000 sheets of paper; one tree can only produce around 8,300 sheets of paper which means that it would take almost 25 average trees to create a ton of paper.
Paper waste
The average cost of a wasted piece of paper is approximately $0.06; this may not appear as very much but when you take into account the fact that the average employee alone wastes 6 printed pages a day this equals 1,041 pieces of wasted paper a year.
With each individual working in an office or in a location where they print items wasting this much paper and money per year, it’s understandable that large companies can lose money very quickly if they do not discipline their employees and endeavour to use less paper by printing less files.
Office use
It’s estimated that the average office worker will print approximately 10,000 items per year and that 75% of the items that are printed are taken straight from the internet without being supplemented or edited in any way.
Home use
It’s believed that around 90% of people that print from home do so straight from the internet and that of those people 56% of the ones aged between 45-54 print this information so that they can add it to their archives or so that they can place it somewhere where they will remember the information or be able to access it easily in the future.
However, of the same people that print from the internet at home only 33% of those aged between 18-34 also print documents in order to remember information or to add it to their archives.
Of course - we don’t think about these things when we make use of custom printing services for a variety of printing needs. To ensure your printing is done efficiently, effectively and professionally - just use a professional custom printer like Asset Print.

Business Cards Creative Enough To Catch Attention
By now, millennials are used to finding out everything online and the contact details of someone I've previously met is no exception. A quick search of Google or LinkedIn would normally provide you with a fast way to message most people in your industry. So you'd be forgiven for thinking millennials have lost interest in business cards. Actually, this is not true - I think that they can be really great! Here are some really fantastic examples of business cards that would draw me in and make me want to keep hold of them. So I thought I'd share them for anyone who is trying to attract a millennial audience and needs a bit of inspiration.
These business cards have been created by Primoprint and I love them! If I received one of these, I can guarantee I would be interested because of how creative they are, how different they are from a 'traditional' business card. The holographic effect goes nicely with the white background as there's nothing to distract from it. The extra detail of having the holographic portion raised slightly also gives it that extra flare.
Elegante Press definitely made these business cards stand out for their client, Norwegian illustrator, Kristin Tørå Rantanen. To start with, the cards were printed on cotton paper rather than traditional card stock, meaning even from touching this card you would know there was something more interesting about it. Along with this, they used letterpress which adds to the interesting texture of the product and they included no colour, purposefully. The intention was that the cards could be left blank, or could be hand-painted by the client herself if she wanted to do so. This meant that the cards could be given a personalized feel (and in this day and age, everybody wants personalized - especially the younger generation!) allowing each one to have a different feel.
When business cards don't portray much about the company apart from who they are and how to contact them, there's nothing about them that really grabs my attention. But when they express some brand personality or hint at what the business does without having to read the card, it's more likely to spark my interest! Ravel Logo and Brand Design created a unique business card for Feelme Crew who mainly work with video filming and editing. To help make them stand out in a competitive industry, they created a business card with lots of personalities. They played with designs and managed to create this amazing one which also has the ability to move on the top section like a real clapperboard. This is sure to turn some heads!
Something different from all the rest of these is a business card offered by Formink. One of their designs is a translucent plastic business card and they created some for Adler and Adler illustrations. Using a different material, in my opinion, is super interesting and is a great way of attracting the attention of younger audiences! The text has been kept plain and the images are in metallic silver which looks great against the transparent background. They are also rounded on the edges which again, is not traditional but looks great, giving them another reason to stand out above the rest.
If you want business cards that others find interesting, or which would attract people's attention due to their originality and design - be sure to have them printed professionally at a reliable business card printer like Asset Print.

Flyers and Leaflets: How To Make Yours Stand Out
Bring your Leaflet and Flyer printing to the next level!
When it comes to affordable and effective marketing, you can’t beat the simplicity of a printed Leaflet. Mind you, we’re not talking about just any Leaflets, we’re talking about Leaflets with designs and finishes so stunning that your customers’ jaws will hit the floor the minute they see them.
Read on to discover how to create the perfect flyer designs for your business.
Go classy with a Foil finish
Do you remember the first time you ever opened a gourmet piece of chocolate? Chances are the wrapper was made of Foil. It oozes class.
Adding a Foil finish to your printed Leaflets has the same effect. Print your company’s logo in Foil to create a focal point or decorate the edges with a beautiful geometric design to add a unique visual aspect. Printing companies often offer Foiling in a variety of colours including red, blue, gold, silver, rose gold and even copper.
Create visual drama with White Ink Leaflets
Anything you can do to add a bit of drama to your Leaflet and Flyer printing gives your marketing an edge. This is one of the reasons why White Ink is such a popular choice.
Created by building up layer upon layer of specially formulated ink, this finish gives your prints a crisp whiteness that just can’t be beaten. This finish can take even the simplest of ideas and give it a bold and unique edge.
Unique effects with Laser and Die Cutting
Who said Flyers have to be square? If you’ve got a unique shape in mind, then Laser Cutting and Die Cutting are ideal!
These techniques give your Flyer a hand-cut look which allows you to really get creative with your design. A baker for example could create a Die-Cut Flyer shaped like a cupcake, or a florist may choose to cut out beautiful floral shapes within their design with Laser Cutting. The possibilities really are endless, and the only limit is your imagination…
‘All that glitters’ with a Spot UV suite
For the perfect glossy finish for your Leaflets and Flyers, choose Spot UV!
Created by placing varnish onto your print and then hardening it with a UV lamp, this finish adds a unique shine to parts of your design that will truly wow when it catches the light. It’s especially dramatic on a matte or a dark-coloured background and doesn’t have the telltale glare of other glossy finishes.
Get fresh with folds
Special Finishes aren’t the only way to add a little oomph to your designs. Folded Leaflets have a very distinct look compared to your standard A5 prints and are perfect if you’ve got more to say. Whether you choose a classic half fold, a Z fold or the ever-popular gate fold, there are so many ways to get creative and keep your customers staring.
You can unroll a hidden message, open up to reveal a large spread of content or let the story of your brand unfold on each individual side.
Whether you’re looking for a small run of A5 Flyers, or need a variety of sizes and finishes for a sprawling marketing campaign, Asset Print has got you covered. Discover their full range of printed Leaflets and Flyers today.

5 Tips for Effective Banner Marketing
Banner marketing can be a powerful way to promote your products and services to local customers, at trade shows, and at events. Banners are big, so they stand out and get noticed; and large banner printing is cost-effective so you can reach hundreds or even thousands of potential customers for minimal investment. Use banners to fuel sales with the following five tips for effective banner marketing.
1. Feature a targeted message and promotion
Start by developing a targeted message or promotion for your banners. Consider who your customers are and what they want: how do you fulfil their desires, solve their problems, or otherwise make their lives better? This should be the foundation of your banner message. Be sure to define exactly what you want customers to do next: visit your website, call your number, or stop in at your brick-and-mortar location, for example. You should also tell customers why they should take your requested action immediately – you might offer a time-limited discount, for example. If your banner message reveals how customers can get what they want, why they need to get it now, and why they need to get it from you, you’re off to a great start.
2. Keep it simple and memorable
Keep your banners simple and memorable to maximize their effectiveness. That means short, bold headlines that command attention and stick in customers’ heads. Rhymes and humour can be effective tools that help customers recall your banner later. Keep in mind many people won’t give your banner more than a passing glance, either by necessity (when driving) or distraction (at an outdoor event, such as a concert). Thus, you have to make your banners visually compelling, simple, and memorable. Limit the amount of text on your banners so they can be read and understood at-a-glance. Make your call to action short, sweet, and memorable: you might even create a special URL or phone number that makes it easy for potential customers to remember how to follow up. Don’t overload your banners with information; if your banners can be digested in under two seconds and remembered two hours later, you’re on the right track.
3. Craft an attention-getting design
Your banners must feature an attention-getting design in order to get customers to read them; it stands to reason they have to be noticed before they can be understood and acted upon. Some ways to command attention with banner design include:
unique and unexpected images
large, bold headlines
contrasting colours
large dollar signs, percentage symbols, and “free” text
You don’t have to incorporate all of these into a single banner design; in many cases, simple text-based banners can be just as effective as banners that feature creative artwork.
4. Targeted placement
Effective banner marketing requires intelligent, targeted placement. There are two ways to target banner placement, and both strategies can be effective: you can place banners to achieve the greatest possible views, or you can place banners to reach a well-defined audience. For the former, busy traffic intersections, shopping districts, and community events can help your banners reach hundreds or even thousands of people every day. Some of those people are likely customers, and so this strategy works. Let’s say you sell running shoes, so you print a banner promoting a special discount sale and place near a busy intersection. You can reasonably assume a lot of runners will drive by it every day, so your banner should send customers to you. For the latter, niche events, trade shows, and places customers frequent provide fewer views, but that’s offset by advanced targeted: your banners are always in front of likely customers. If you sell running shoes, you might place banners at 5K races in which everyone is a potential customer. Since banners are relatively cheap to print, you can employ both strategies to maximize your reach with banner marketing.
5. Print quality banners at discount prices
Speaking of printing, it’s important to print your banners on quality vinyl, vinyl mesh, or canvas material with UV-resistant inks. Doing so not only increases their longevity, they make your banners look amazing – which in turn makes your brand appear trustworthy. Pick the right banner material for your distribution strategy, then print premium quality banners at discount prices to maximize your return on investment. Banner marketing isn’t rocket science, but it does require some thought in order to get the most bang for your buck. Apply these five tips to print effective banners that drive legions of customers to your business. Start your banner marketing campaign with Asset Print now!
