DIGITALLY PRINTED LABELS

So you need vibrant, digitally printed labels, but before we get ahead of ourselves here’s how things work from here on in.

1. Quote & Order

You would have seen or spoken to a sales consultant at a printing company who suggested a size, material and finish for your label going forward. If you are happy with the price you will choose a quantity that suits your requirements and you place an order.

Handy hint: Prices are volume related, so the more you order the cheaper it gets!

2. Design

Before a label printing company can start printing they need to sort out your artwork.

Option 1: They design a label to your specifications. For this, they need a design brief, which you will sit and cover with your consultant, think of this as a roadmap for the designer to work with, to get to exactly what you are looking for. If you have any images or logos, fonts etc this is when this will be specified. Of course, taste is a very personal thing so be as specific as you need. Rather too much information than too little. If you have labels that you’ve seen on a product or in sample packs, reference these and send them your ideas. Design is a slow and tedious process so give them a few days to send it back to you, of course, if you have many variants/SKU’s this will extend the process.

When you receive your design/s back take a careful look and request any changes, special attention should be paid to spelling and content such as ingredients, instructions and layout.

Option 2: You have existing artwork and would like this replicated, easy, but your printer needs it in a certain format to be able to get it print-ready. Because there are so many design packages on the market we’ve found that a High-Resolution PDF works best. Please make sure all Fonts are converted to Curves/Paths to avoid having Font substitution problems and incurring design charges.

Handy hint: Remember we make use of a CMYK print process, so if you have a specific Pantone colour you’d like to use ask the consultant to look at the colour chart for the best CMYK match. Digital and Flexo are vastly different print processes and there is certain colour we cannot match exactly.

3. Digital and physical proofs and approval

Once your printer has digital approval (this means you are happy with the electronic proof / design and acknowledge this on email), they move on to a physical proof. They schedule time on their press to produce a printed version of your design for final sign off of changes. To avoid delays this is normally on Semi-Gloss paper, which is our most common substrate. This is a unique offer because unlike many printers will give you a print produced on the actual press, not a desktop proofer. This simply means that what you see on the proof is what you’ll get as your final product. A point to note: The physical proof will be un-finished, this simply means that it will not be die-cut or have the varnish layer or lamination of the final product. If you are happy with the physical proof, you will sign it off and then they’re ready to roll.

Handy hint: The design phase could take days or weeks, depending on how fast they can get you to a design you like.

4. Printing, Die-cutting and finishing, Rewinding

With all the approvals out of the way, they move to the production phase. Your order now gets planned, printed, finished and rewound.

As you can see there are quite a few steps to get through before a printing company can start printing, so make sure you have sufficient stock from your existing supplier.

The good news is that once you’ve been through the initial artwork and approval phases, your job becomes a re-order. This simply means approved artwork is already in place and all you need to do is place an order for your labels at Asset Print, check the price and await delivery.

Custom-Printed Labels: Here’s What Your Printer Needs to Know…

Custom labels are one of the most diverse printed products available. They can be created in virtually any size, shape or colour, and can be constructed using a variety of materials, adhesives and coatings.
Sometimes referred to as stickers, decals or adhesive tags, labels are primarily used to communicate important information. Printed labels can provide identification, assist with distribution, give instructions, issue warnings, display promotional messages or serve a variety of other important purposes.

When you have a custom label project, you can expect your printer to ask a series of questions in order to accurately quote and produce the optimal label solution for you.  Below are some questions your printer will likely ask and the corresponding aspects for you to consider.

How will the Label be used?

When a customer requests custom-printed labels, the first question a printer may ask is how the label will be used. Knowing the label’s purpose, what it will be affixed to, and the environment and handling it will be subject to, help them determine its basic physical characteristics…

Base Material
Paper (the most economical choice)
Plastic – Vinyl, Polyester, Mylar, etc.
Metallic Foil

Adhesion Method
Permanent Bond
Removable/Repositionable
Static Cling

Protective Coatings
UV Coating
Plastic Lamination
Chemical/Moisture Resistant

How will the Label be applied?

After your printing company knows more about the label’s basic physical characteristics, they will want to learn how the label will be applied and if the label will be printed upon or otherwise marked on by the customer or another party. This helps them determine the optimal format for dispersing the label as well as factors that may affect the durability of the label and its ink…

Format
Flat Sheets, multiple labels per sheet
Individual Labels
On Rolls
Fan-folded

Durability
Standard or Heavy-Duty Thickness
Subject to Heat, such as a LaserJet?
Written on by Pen, Marker, Pencil?
Matte or Gloss Finish

How will the Label look?

Determining the dimensions and appearance of the label is usually the next step. The options here are virtually endless, so it helps to discuss the most economical choices that meet the customer’s needs.

Design elements to consider include…

Size and Shape
Stock or Custom Size (a Stock size avoids any die expense)
Rectangular or Square, Sharp or Rounded Corners
Oval, Circle or Other Common Shape
Speciality/Die-cut Shape

Ink Colors
Full-Color (CMYK)
PMS/Spot Colors
Black Ink Only

Other Features
Embossing

Consecutive Numbering

Because you want labels that are ideally suited for your specific application, we always recommend that you get Asset Print involved early in the process to make sure all aspects of the label are addressed. This includes pre-testing a sample of the recommended label stock.

Catch-Up with the Latest Poster Design Trends

There are exciting poster design trends in the offing. Posters are great for advertising. Poster printing is a sure way to get your business noticed by your prospective customers. To help you make the best of your poster printing investment here is a list of the latest poster design trends that are currently popular worldwide:

Creating as Much Contrast as Possible

Most entrepreneurs will be overly concerned with choosing design elements that complement one another. Nowadays, however, the emphasis is on creating as much contrast as possible. Think bold colours, daring fonts and full bleeds.

Gradients

Unless the aim is to follow the minimalist trend, colour transitions (also known as gradients) can add some dimension and texture to your poster design.

Use Retro Palettes

Not sure which colour scheme to go with? Colour palettes from the 1980s and 1990s have recently made a comeback – which is great considering how eye-catching they are! Electric hues and geometric patterns are also extremely popular right now.

Invest in Custom Graphics

It can be so tempting for business owners to turn to stock imagery when designing their posters. While it is definitely the cheaper option, it does little to embody the essence of your business and the message that you’re trying to get across. If your budget allows for it, custom graphics designed by a professional graphic design company can truly make a world of difference when it comes to creating a poster that people can’t help but admire.

Change Poster Size

Why stick to the traditional A4 poster size when you can opt for any other size instead? Choose a printing company like Asset Print that can provide you with large format printing to suit your chosen dimensions.

Promotional Printing: Five Benefits of Custom-Printed Notepads

Custom-printed notepads are one of the best ways to keep your company’s name in front of current and prospective customers. Like a miniature billboard, a custom notepad will repeatedly display your marketing message, helping to keep your business top-of-mind for weeks, months or longer.
Not only are custom notepads very economical to produce, but they can also be printed with virtually any promotional message you wish to convey – company name, logo, slogan, contact information, photos and so on. Adding a full-color logo, photos or artwork helps create a quality impression.
In addition, notepads are quite durable and very easy to distribute, making them well-suited for trade show giveaways or for sales reps to hand out to current and prospective customers.
A Custom-Printed Notepads offers Numerous Benefits…
1) Provides Ongoing Exposure – most recipients of note pads will keep them handy and use them almost daily. This means your organisation’s name and contact information will always be prominently displayed. No other type of marketing offers such repeat exposure for so little investment.
2) Encourages Reciprocity – people love to receive gifts and freebies. Even though they are distributed with no obligation, giving a gift to a current or prospective client builds goodwill and leaves a favorable impression…which increases the probability they will like you, remember you, and do business with you.
3) Practical and Useful – in addition to being effective tools for promotion and brand awareness, imprinted notepads serve a very practical and useful purpose for the recipient. Just about everybody appreciates a handy pad of paper, for use at home or at the office. Plus, compared to other promotional items, the simple and relatively low-tech nature of notepads means they won’t break, need instructions, or require batteries.
4) Very Affordable – custom-printed notepads have a high perceived value yet are extremely affordable. In fact, notepads are one of the most affordable promotional items you can buy. Also, a standard size pad – such as 8.5” x 11”, 5.5” x 8.5”, or 4.25” x 5.5” – will prove to be your most economical choice. In addition, shrink-wrapping note pads into small bundles, such as packs of 5 pads, is an affordable way to minimize damage and make distribution easier.
5) Totally Customizable – notepads can be printed at Asset Print with any message, image or layout you choose. You can have them printed in full-color, one or two colors, or plain black ink. They can also be made as lined or unlined pads. Also, the number of sheets per pad is variable…25, 50, 100, or something else. With notepad printing, there is a lot of room for creativity so the design is totally up to you.

Flyer Printing – Low Cost, High Exposure

Gone are the days of waiting for customers to come knocking at your door. In this rapidly developing world, consumers are bombarded with options. Your competitors are chanting, tugging and aggressively at war to get the same clients. If ever there was a time for you to rise up and be counted, it’s now – and you can do just that with printed flyers.
So, you have put your campaign online and are waiting for clicks… Big deal, your competitors have probably thought of the same thing and may have a bigger online ad budget than you! While the importance of the digital space cannot be underestimated, nothing beats putting a flyer in the hands of your clients and of course potentially new ones!

Targeted advertising with fliers

Get high exposure without the complications. Simply have your print-ready artwork in a PDF format, order online and the rest is history. Quick turnarounds and quality flyer printing are some of the standard benefits you can expect from Asset Print.
Move away from only soliciting online clicks and impressions that may or may not be real, but computer-generated. Target your area, the people you so greatly want, by making sure your message lands in front of them. It is like personally taking your brand and promo advertising from your office chambers where they were birthed to the eyes of your potential clients.

Break exposure limitations, not your budget

With our flyer special, your budget – or the lack thereof – need no longer be an excuse for not taking your brand and promo advertising directly to your potential customers. It is something that is now within your reach and the high exposure benefits of it can far outweigh the low cost in the long run.
Consider popular soda drinks, global restaurants and brands, they all have one thing in common; they tirelessly present themselves to their target audiences. Even though they know they are internationally recognised, they strive to remain top-of-mind by advertising where it matters.
If leading blue-chip companies can and do it, can you afford not to let your community know about your product and latest specials? A click can never quite be compared to a message delivered into their hands. Somehow a human touch and virtual click just aren’t the same thing.
Flyers still work! Order today to find out for yourself.

Don’t ditch your desk calendar: The benefits of handwriting events and tasks

Even with hundreds of available apps to help organize your life, a paper desk calendar may be just what you need to stay on top of your work schedule. Despite dire predictions, desk calendars are thriving in the digital age. Furthermore, desk calendars may even be gaining some ground. Between 2014 and 2016, the sales of calendars jumped 8 percent and the sales of planners grew 10 percent.

Why are people sticking with or rediscovering paper? As organizational guru David Allen says, “There’s still no tool better than a paper planner.” Scheduling with pen and paper even offers some advantages over digital calendars. Keep reading to learn about the benefits of analog scheduling and discover tips to improve your desk calendar.

The brain-hand connection

Typing and handwriting may seem similar, but our brains handle the two activities differently. Because handwriting requires you to make sequential strokes to form each letter, it activates large regions of the brain involved in thinking, language, and working memory. The same is not true for typing a letter on a keyboard.

In one study, pre-literate children were split into groups and taught how to draw letters by hand, trace letters, or type letters on a keyboard. Later they looked at the same letters while their brains were scanned in a functional MRI machine. Networks of the brain known to support successful reading activated in the students who’d written the letters, but not in the students who’d typed or traced.

The benefits of handwriting are also evident later in life. Older students comprehend lectures better when taking notes by hand rather than on a laptop. Moreover, adults are better able to learn a new alphabet when they practice letters by hand rather than on a computer.

What does this research on the brain-hand connection mean for your work calendar? You may remember your appointments better if you write them down on paper rather than typing them.

You could even think of jotting down tasks and appointments as exercise for your brain. “One of the advantages of moving away from the keyboard and doing something that requires greater flexibility in how we use our hands is that it also requires greater flexibility in how we use our brains,” writes Nancy Darling, a psychology professor at Oberlin College.

A desk calendar also provides a place to doodle. Scribbling idly may seem like a waste of time, but it’s a powerful way to improve concentration during boring tasks. In one study, people who were randomly assigned to doodle during an intentionally dull phone call remembered 29 percent more of the information transmitted on the call afterward. Doodling also quickly calms the mind, and most people find it enjoyable.

Dash digital fatigue

Of course, using a paper planner or calendar offers a way to step away from screens during your busy work day. If you feel like you spend too much time on mobile devices and are drowning in notifications and alerts, you’re not alone.

Devices are designed to be addictive. Our brains secrete the feel-good chemical dopaminewhen we hear a notification, and we experience real symptoms of anxiety if we can’t respond. American adults spend nearly 11 hours per day staring at screens, and iPhone users unlock their phones up to 80 times a day.

You may be suffering from spending too much time on technology without realizing it. The more time teens spend online, the more likely they are to say they’re unhappy. Adults randomly assigned to give up Facebook for a week ended up happier, less lonely, and less depressed at the end of the week than those who used Facebook.

Former tech employees are even raising an alarm about the negative impacts of the technology they helped create. A group of them started an organization called Center for Humane Technology; they feel too much technology erodes mental health and social relationships. Stepping away from your laptop and phone to schedule on paper is one way to decrease your time on digital devices at work.

Plan and personalize

Using a desk calendar may help with big-picture planning and organization because it’s easy to see all your appointments at a glance. Many people prefer the tangible feeling of paper. For instance, 92 percent of college students prefer to read print books versus reading on a digital device.

Furthermore, whether you love minimalist, elegant, or cute desk calendars, your calendar becomes as unique as you are once you put pen to paper. Personalize it exactly how you want and don’t be afraid to transform it into an efficient, artistic extension of your brain. Once you have your calendar from Asset Print, stock up on different highlighters, sticky notes, and colorful pens.

Long live the desk calendar

Digital devices aren’t going anywhere. Chances are you use some sort of online calendar, and you may want to continue doing so. But don’t ditch your desk calendar just yet. Many people use both a paper planning system and an online calendar because each offers different benefits. Writing down appointments helps you remember them better, gives you an opportunity to step away from screens, lends itself to big-picture planning and organizing, and offers a myriad of personalization options. Moreover, putting pen to paper may help you stay calmer and more focused.

How to remove sticker glue

Cheap stickers can leave unsightly marks on clothing and surfaces – find out how to get rid of that annoying residue with this step-by-step guide.

Kids often have a bit of a passion for stickers! They’re one of the simplest activities you can use to keep them occupied for hours. But turn your back for five minutes, and those stickers will be slapped onto all kinds of hidden surfaces.

Of course, you’ll only discover this later, when their stickiness has had time to well and truly settle in on walls, windows, and your favourite clothes. If you think it’s about time you learnt how to remove sticker glue, whether from surfaces kids have decided to ‘decorate’ or just from jars, just follow our easy guidelines below.

Use a basic pencil eraser to scrub off the last few scraps of sticker residue on flat hard surfaces – their shape makes them particularly ideal for lifting small deposits of glue. Remember, however, that the sooner you deal with a sticker stain, the better – once the mark has dried in (accumulating dirt and grime in the process) you’ll find it much tougher to get rid of!

How to remove sticky label residue from clothes

Removing sticker residue from clothes can actually be fairly simple:

  1. If at all possible, don’t let a sticky stain dry or go through the tumble dryer – once it has dried out, it’ll be much harder to remove.
  2. Check the care label of your garment before treating it – this means you can choose a suitable detergent and wash cycle. If your garment is wool, silk, lace, or any other delicate fabric, you’ll want to use a mild detergent and to treat the stain with a little extra care.
  3. Rub a good quality detergent (like OMO) directly into the area. You can also splash out on a specialist adhesive stain remover, but check the label carefully to ensure that it is suitable for your fabric, as some powerful stain removers can be a little too strong for delicate fabrics. When dealing with any cleaning product, always protect your hands and follow the instructions on the label.
  4. Re-wash the garment according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Wash at 40 degrees or below to ensure that the heat from the wash doesn’t set the stain.
  5. If some of the residue persists, re-treat the area. Alternatively, you can try blotting surgical spirit directly onto the stain and washing again as normal. But always make sure you test any treatments on an inconspicuous area of the fabric first to ensure that your method and the material are compatible.

How to remove sticky residue from plastic, wood, and metal

Removing stickers from plastic, wood, and metal can be a little bit trickier if you don’t know the safest method to use. Chemical removing agents can damage these materials, and anything abrasive can leave marks or dents. Instead:

  1. Apply vegetable oil to the area and let it soak in for a couple of hours.
  2. Use a warm (not hot) hair dryer to soften the glue, and wipe the residue off.
  3. Use a hot soapy water and cloth for a final clean.

How to remove sticky labels from walls

These days we often use large vinyl stickers to decorate our walls – but what if you want to take them off? Most manufacturers of ‘decals’ have their own recommended method for removing their stickers to follow, but if the packet instructions have long since disappeared, you’ll need to:

  1. Remove as much of the paper part of the sticker manually.
  2. Use a pencil eraser to rub away excess residue.
  3. Use a cloth with hot soapy water to get the wall totally clean.

How to remove sticker gluefrom windows

Letting your kids put stickers on the inside of the windows of your car can seem like a fun idea at the time, but when you try to remove them (or they naturally deteriorate), their remains are very unsightly. Torn bits of sticker are not the best of accessories, but neither are scratched windows, so:

  1. Avoid the temptation to use something sharp to scrape the glue off – this could scratch the glass.
  2. Moisten any paper residue with a damp cloth.
  3. Then, apply an acetate-based nail varnish remover and rub or roll the glue away from the glass.
  4. Use hot soapy water to remove any remaining glue.

If the sticker has been stuck to the window for a long time, it will be harder to remove. If the above technique doesn’t do the job, you may have to resort to using something like a palette knife, but be very careful to protect your fingers and make sure you use it flat against the surface of the glass to avoid causing scratches.

How to remove sticky label residue from jars

Glass jars are incredibly useful things to keep around the house, either as simple flower vases or as a useful way to keep hold of small objects, like spare beads and buttons. The easiest way to remove sticky labels on your jars is by following these steps:

  1. Plunge the jars straight into a big bowl of hot soapy water – use a good quality washing up liquid to make the lather.
  2. Leave them to soak for half an hour. By the time you come back to them, the glue should have dissolved, and the labels will slide off easily!
  3. If any residue remains, use neat vinegar and a microfibre cloth – or a small nail brush – to scrub the glass bottles clean.

Once you know how to remove sticker residue easily, you can use this skill to reuse jars and tins around your house – as well as taking care of kids’ sticker-related mishaps. Give it a go!

Remember that vinyl stickers as easy to apply and just as easy to remove due to the material used to make them. Asset Print offers quality vinyl sticker printing - no matter what your needs!

Letterhead Printing – Top tips for effective Letterheads

These days we may conduct much of our business by email or online but letterheads are still widely used and hugely important to most businesses. Many customers like and even depend on written correspondence. Written or signed letters also add a more personal touch to communications or business transactions. As they bear your brand they also advertise your business. That’s why you should always put plenty of thought into the design of your printed letterheads.

It’s all in the details
It might sound obvious, but don’t get so carried away with designing a great letterhead that you forget the essentials. Business name, address, contact details including email and web address are absolutely essential, as is your logo. Some companies include social media addresses like Twitter or Facebook but make sure your printed letterhead doesn’t look cluttered. Its main purpose is as a border for your letter’s content.

Use a good design and artwork programme
Ask any designer and they’ll tell you they can easily spot anything produced using platforms such as Word or Pages. Programmes like Indesign and Illustrator were specifically created for design and allow much greater flexibility for both type and graphics. Any good online printer will have downloadable templates you can use for your artwork so you know that what you supply will be print ready.

Keep your brand consistentYour logo and brand identity is just as important on your printed letterhead as on any marketing. Your brand should be easily recognisable but not overbearing. Compliment slips should reflect the same details and design as your letterhead and they both should sit perfectly beside your business card design too.

Use vector logos
Logos or other graphics should be in vector format. Photoshop files in high res (300dpi at the printed size) are fine but vector or line art images will always look sharper.

Think about a continuation sheet
If some of your correspondence is likely to be more than a single page in length, have continuation sheets printed. These shouldn’t have the details you need on your letterhead but should have the same design, look and feel. It’s much better to use continuation sheets than blank pages and you should never use your letterhead again for a second page.

Asset Print offers letterhead printing as well as other stationery to customers from all over Cape Town.

How to Market My New Business in 2019 by Using Online Printing

Online Printing Can Help You Reach Your Goals

roll up banner sign by color copies usa
Congratulations, you have taken the leap and started your own business! It’s a big step and an accomplishment you should be proud of. Now that you’ve set up your new company, you are likely wondering how to effectively market it. Most modern business marketing advice revolves around digital marketing methods such as having a good website. profiles on major social media platforms. search engine optimization and content marketing. While these are important, they cannot wholly replace the value of printed materials, like flyers, in marketing.
Some businesses, for example, may primarily operate locally and have little need for digital marketing efforts. Even if your business is wholly online, there are still benefits to using printed marketing materials. The following is an in-depth guide for how to market your new business in 2019 by using printing from Asset Print.
Direct Mail
For certain types of businesses, direct mail can be an invaluable way to gain the attention of clients. This is especially true for small businesses like doctor’s offices and storefronts that don’t do much business outside of a local community. Direct mailings can remind customers that your business is still there if they haven’t come in a while, promote sales and discounts, advertise that your new business has opened and more. It is a good way to reach people who may not spend a lot of time online, such as older demographics if your business caters to them. There are a lot of possibilities with direct mail you can discover by getting some printed and seeing for yourself.

Business Cards

Most professionals are well-served by having a business card they can hand out to people at events or in passing. This is especially true if you are a freelancer or even run an online business. A business card is a great way to encourage people you meet in real life to check out your website and the products or services you provide online. Business cards also provide contact information so people can contact you later with questions, commissions or other requests.

Storefront Signs

If you run a physical store or office, colour banners and signage are practically a necessity. They can serve to advertise your business from the windows to catch the eyes of passerby and convince them to come inside and shop. This is helpful because these signs immediately let customers know what you sell and the type of business you are. They can advertise promotions or sales that may be going on at the moment. Retractable banners and indoor posters can also serve to make the inside of your store or office more vibrant.

Promotional Items

Your printed logo, the name of your business or a clever saying printed on promotional items is another great way printing can promote your business. T-shirts, for example, can be worn by your employees at events and sold to your customers to spread the word about your business. They are also helpful for branding and team-building efforts among your employees.

Other Types Of Signs

Billboards, flyers posted around town and other types of physical signage are very effective at drawing attention to your new business and will continue to be popular in 2019. Car signs, including magnets carried by Color Copies USA, are also a great idea. They serve as a moving advertisement for your business just while driving around town. They are especially useful if your operation goes to individual homes, such as if you run a cleaning business or a dog training service.
Printed materials are still very relevant in advertising your new business…even in 2019. They are used in any number of ways to help get your new business off the ground and experience growth. Choose an online printing company experienced in working with many different types of industries to successfully promote and grow your new business.

Distribute Flyers

Perhaps the oldest form of marketing next to the shop sign would have to be flyers. Even with the popularity of Internet marketing, flyers and direct mail are still effective ways to make sales, especially that tricky and often allusive first one. The beauty of a flyer campaign is it’s easy and inexpensive to test for effectiveness.

Start with a Sample Test

If you’re not sure if you want to spend the energy going door-to-door flyer campaigns – you can easily test to see if it’s worth engaging in.
  1. Create a flyer – Start with something really simple and to the point. Less is more. Less is also much easier to test and makes a great baseline. Try promoting a sale, a specific item, or an event. For example if you run an online kayaking store, then offer free kayaking lessons. Whatever you do, don’t just promote your URL and hope for sales to come in.
  2. Print out 100 flyers – 100 pieces is a good number to give you results to make an informed decision later on. It also won’t take too long to distribute.
  3. Go door-to-door – Delivering 100 flyers will take a good portion of an afternoon.
The easiest way to see results is to check your sales over the next month. You can look at your billing and shipping zip codes to see if they match the area your flyers were delivered to. You might want to keep checking a few months later to see if any more sales trickle in.
Alternately, you can use a special URL or a coupon code to track your flyer efforts. For example if you want to offer a discount to residents in your city, you can send them to a URL like: www.yourdomain.com/city-name or give them a coupon code like “CITYNAMEYEAR”.
Depending on how many sales derive from your campaign, you’ll be able to determine if it’s worth scaling. In many cases, just a few sales out of 100 are usually worth justifying future flyers campaigns. Don’t forget that some of these customers will be repeat customers, so the investment upfront should pay off more down the line.

Scaling

If you want to try a larger flyer campaign and cover more ground, it’s good to think of it as a mini science project. Before you make a new flyer with a new promotion you should try the exact same flyer again, this time sending it to 10 times the number of new prospects than before.
The reason for this is simple: with an expanded reach, you have even better data on how effective your baseline flyer is. If you send the flyer to 1,000 homes, you’ll have a more accurate conversion rate of that first flyer.
You’re also going to want to hire someone or a company to deliver the flyers. At 1,000 homes – it’s no longer worth your time to kick rocks. There are a lot of businesses that do flyer delivery for you – so simply do a Google search to see who offers the service in your area. Of course this will increase your costs and you might not get the same results. And that’s exactly why it’s so important to test and measure.

Testing Your Flyers

The next step is testing your flyer. Over the next few campaigns, test things like:
  • Copy – Change the wording of your flyer.
  • The Offer – Try a more compelling offer.
  • More than one offer – Try multiple offers, but be incremental when adding offers. Your tests will be much easier to gain insights from.
Only change one thing per campaign. If you change too many elements on your mailing piece at once, you’ll have a hard time knowing what has the biggest effect. Later on when you get your flyer testing “chops” down, feel free to do big bold changes to see if you can make a bigger impact to your bottom line.
An important aspect of flyer marketing is to remember to have your flyers printed by a printing company that is reliable and prints good quality work. Check out Asset Print - they’re great at what they do and priced very reasonably.
